A Californian ex-pat living in urban Rio de Janeiro receives an unexpected invitation from an online surfer friend to visit her family’s ancestral Guarani village located in an isolated coastal area of the Atlantic Forest. Moema first appeared in the magazine Water (2007).
Greek-American author Ithaka Darin Pappas (or simply Ithaka) grew up in Southern California. He began traveling at a young age and has since resided in a handful of other countries such as Brazil, Greece, Japan and Portugal.
